Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits details sound familiar
IGN has an interview with Paul Gadbois, producer on Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits, the franchise-milking upcoming compilation of what Activision has determined are the most popular songs from every console GH title to date. Canadian development studio and port-expert, Beenox, is putting together the disc, which hits 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii in June. (It's confirmed at $60 for the 360/PS3 release, $40 on Wii and $30 on PS2.) According to Gadbois, this mash-up of previous Guitar Hero games will offer full band play on all 48 of its included (master) tracks, while also including the music studio, character creation, and ...
Get a grip: Nintendo reveals Wii ‘Classic Controller Pro’
Nintendo's Japanese site is now showing a new version of the dual-analog Classic Controller for Wii. The "Classic Controller Pro" replaces the original's tiny secondary shoulder buttons with a traditional Dual Shock style "two rows of buttons" set up, moves the two analog sticks out a bit from the center, and adds some hand grips. Hand grips are for pros. Basically, if a Dual Shock and a Wii Classic Controller had a baby, it would be -- a disgusting thing to think about. But if someone were to design a video game controller that used elements of both of those controllers, ...
Punch-Out!! rated by ESRB, still coming ‘first half 2009′
Readying Soda Popinski for battle with everyone's favorite underdog, Little Mac, takes time, folks. Today though, It seems that Nintendo may be getting closer to releasing the next iteration in the now aging series, Punch-Out!!, with the ESRB having officially rated the game as "Everyone 10+." Though we've yet to get our hands into Nintendo's punching gloves and see if the game's any good, based on screenshots and the little video we've seen we can wholeheartedly say (tongue fully in cheek) OMG PUNCH-OUT KING HIPPO AHHHH!1!11! Considering that the game's set for a "first half 2009" release window in Europe and ...

Sega to use WiiMotion Plus in Virtua Tennis
TechRadar UK reported a rumor that the Wii version of Sega's recently announced Virtua Tennis 2009 will be one of the first third-party games to support WiiMotion Plus. The upcoming add-on peripheral adds advanced motion controller technology to the existing Wii remote and allows true one-to-one motion. The main complaints of games like Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and Dragon Quest: Swords are the imprecise controls and spotty responsiveness to Wii-mote swings. WiiMotion Plus will hopefully boost the remote's sensitivity to motion. How cool would that be in another Star Wars lightsaber game?
Funny Wii Remote Add Ons
As the Nintendo Wii grows in age, the maturation of the devices that can be used with the Nintendo Wii Remote continue to grow. First, we saw the Wii Zapper which allowed us to use the Wii Remote as a rifle. Then with Mario Kart: Wii proved that sliding our Wii Remotes into a steering wheel was a viable option. How about the more obscure, and less known peripherals? They’re out there if you know where to look. Here are the more interesting attachments I’ve been able to find. Some of them are amazing, others nerdy, and one being downright blasphemous. ...

Nintendo sent out just a bit of info about the upcoming Punch-Out!! that finally (partially) answers the biggest question we had about Next Level Games’ delightful-looking refresh of the NES game: how do the controls work? Are we to use motions to simulate punching King Hippo in his gelatinous core, or will it hew more [...]

Jane Jensen’s Gabriel Knight games were rare commodities: mid-’90s FMV-based games that weren’t amazingly terrible (okay, so just the second one was FMV-based). While Vivendi has the rights to that series, Jensen has been working on a new adventure game, Gray Matter, for a few years. Gray Matter is the story of a neurobiologist and [...]
